Buckwheat
is cultivated for four thousand years. At present the largest areas
of cultivation of this cereal are placed in the sub-Caucasus regions,
in China and Brasil. Buckwheat seed arrived to Poland along with Tartar's
invasions and their settlements on eastern borderlands of Poland. That's
why there is also another name for buckwheat - "tatarka". Cultivation
of buckwheat in Poland is mostly widespread on the south-east (Janow
Lubelski region), where our product comes from. Buckwheat is prized
honey-giving plant. Produced from buckwheat buckwheat groat is valuable
for its nutrition and taste virtues. It contains many vitamins and iron.
Protein obtained from it is more valuable and easier absorbed than protein
obtained from other cereals.
