Barley
comes from Mesopotamia. It was already known in ancient Greece and Roma.
As far as nutrition values are concerned, barley is comparable to other
popular cereal seeds. Barley groat is received by polishing barley seed.
In Polish cuisine it was used from the down of history. Till present
time it supplements potatoes enriching everyday diet. It is a basic
component of many Polish dishes, e.g. barley soup.
